Seb was not in this test to shatter lap records but learning the car and team. The reliability,issues still gave him two decent days of testing . Interpreting the facts is always possible but in reality we will have to wait another week to get a first impression of a pecking order inside Aston Martin and how the team ranks in 2021 with Seb replacing Checo .After 4to5races one can tell if Seb should havecalled it a day or he still has it , or as Alonso put it he can prove he had it ever ...after winning 4titles ?19-03-2021 13:44

its not forbidden to change employer . And if someone decides to forward badic ideas , not drawings , there is not much to argue ,especiall when companies are liaded anyways .This sort of exchange exists in aitomotive industry just the same. in a fact based world , Red Bull has not closed the gap to Merc . If Max is the real deal in everything ,the rest of the package stagnates .That is ;Newey has lost it ? There was in Vettels time always the word the car not the engine is miles better than everything else , Vettel is limited but wins anyways , webber is excellent for his aero “feeling“ .. so what now ? another “feel “driver in Sergio , but he seems also one of those who really don't know why they are as quick as they are.Thats not a bad thing at all ..but I think Hulk Daniel ,Seb , Alonso , Lewis are better in giving direction for development.Just my impression. There is hope .I believe Seb will find a RP20b /AMR001 very much to his liking and a team of racers who pull out all stops to tailor the car to his preferences . Seb is now in a phase of his career knowing exactly what he wants from the car and Raci g Point soaked up Nicos input in Silverstone like a sponge ..amd developped the car big time until Nico rejoined at the nurburgring a few weeks later.Imagine how this pans out with a guy of Vettels calibre with so many wins and podiums , he is a top qualifier and give him a top grid position and a good getaway and neither Lewis nor Max will overtake him ,period. every time someone bemoans bad luck and circumstances I get the urge to throw up. Nothing ever in life going wrong is bad luck and,circumstances and a winner will never look at it that way. It's always the positives you draw energy from so why does is he not grsteful not to get hurt when he had that tyre blowout ?Why doesn't he acknowledge that his teammate missed not 1but 2 races to covid so he had more “luck“in this .He also had the luck of having more points to his tally due to checos covid and got the upgrades earlier .He also had two opportunities to win (Monza and Turkey )but can only blame himself not delivering ,when Checo had one sniff at a win and did the do.. Stroll is looking far too much into the negatives and does not understand how it all is of his own making ...you can lent all day about the things you did not do right. or others did to you ..That's just reality ,fact of life .Get over it and look forward .The car is the same , you got a drive , the team willsoon have a new facility, Your dad is putting the money in to hire new staff , the team is growing , you got a 4times champ on your side willing to share his experience , this guy has won 50races in F1',more than most top racers wom in their whole career in singleseaters ..if thats not reason to be positive , WHAT is ? The claim of RP20 2nd best car in 2020 is in my view baseless . we have seen Racing Point much improved and certainly they had a very good car , but Mercedes just never ever looked in steiking distance .period. Max and RB16 were the second fastest combo ,period . yes its only Max who makes the RB16 fly ....in the same sense as of course Newey made Vettel fly in 2010 -2013...Neweys has not suddenly unlearned how to design a car .period.24-01-2021 13:41

Lance is blessed with huge resources available to him, but this is not an automatic way to success.I think Lance has improved but not enough to warrant a safe seat at Aston Martin. yes , that big shunt in Mugello certainly rattled his confidence but he lost the plot in Turkey when he needed to decide to goon with his inters and the team suggested to go for,a set of new ones....and his first Sakhir race was also a mess.. He needs resilience and maybe this is what Seb can bring to the table.I 'm now,sure they should have put Lance on reserve status and,keep Sergio. to give him a chance to soak up the work done by checo and Seb without any pressure of having to beat them. He will need mote time. At least he,has understood the importance of car development and understanding what he needs to be quick .The problem here is he sees a good car in last years RP20 but i reality the important thing is the car matched his requirements to feel comfortable so he can start to express himself and build confidence ...enabling him to push harder. Sebs preference for a planted rear will allow him to bank on Sebs setups so my guess is,the two are in for a very,respectable year...10-01-2021 19:52

that's not what he said . he said Mclaren and Ferrari both have Two strong drivers , when Racing Point and Renault have just one .He admitted ,Ocon is improving , but DanRic carried the team, as did Checo .So both RP &Renault did not improve their already marginal driver d situation.31-12-2020 01:03
